Katherine Heigl has opened up about being raised living in "a white bubble." She also explains how that realization has affected the parenting style of her adopted children that are multiracial. In recent episodes of "Firefly Lane", "Grey's Anatomy" and "Grey's Anatomy" actor Katherine Heigl shared that she didn't care about her complexion until she got to know her adoptive sister who was from South Korea. "I inquired of my sister, Meg whether she'd been treated one way when she went walking around with our parents and in a different manner when she went out by herself without them. Meg replied, "Oh, sure, I was treated the same way all the all the time! Heigl talked to parents about when she realized the naivety of her actions. She said that she was angry and felt that she needed to channel her anger towards helping the adopted children she has. Heigl is the mother of a 4-year-old son and a 13-year-old spouse, Josh Kelley. In 2009, the couple adopted Nancy Leigh (12), a daughter from South Korea, and Adalaide (8 an African-American child) in the year 2012.
